Choosing the right size comes down to how you plan to use your hammock.
Double: Best for one person with extra room to stretch out comfortably.
Queen (Most Popular): Ideal for one or two people. A great balance of space and versatility.
King (Family Size): Designed for two or more people. Perfect for sharing or maximum comfort.
Thick Cord (Heavy Duty): Same approximate size as Queen, but with a thicker cotton cord for extra durability and strength.
Good to Know
All sizes are the same length at approximately 4.1 metres, with larger sizes increasing in width for extra space and comfort.
Allow at least 3.5m of space for hanging.
All sizes are designed to stretch and contour to your body for full support.
For maximum comfort, the larger the size the more comfortable, even for one user.
Mexican hammocks are very versatile and can be set up almost anywhere, including trees, posts, walls, or a stand.
Space and setup
For the best hang:
- Allow around 3.5 to 4.2 metres between hanging points
- Fix your hanging points at approximately 1.5 to 1.8 metres high
- The hammock should hang at about knee to hip height when in use
This creates the ideal relaxed curve for comfort and support.
Where you can hang it
You can hang your hammock from:
- Trees or posts
- Walls or beams
- A freestanding hammock stand
If you do not have suitable fixing points, a hammock stand is the easiest solution.
Hanging Accessories
There is no one size fits all setup, so accessories are sold separately to suit your space.
Common options include:
- Rope and hooks for walls or posts
- Tree straps for quick and easy setup
- Hammock stands for a freestanding option
Adjusting your hang
- If your space is longer, use more rope and hang slightly higher
- If your space is shorter, you can tie a knot near the ends to shorten the hammock
- Always aim for a gentle curve rather than a tight pull
Comfort tip
For the most comfortable position, lie slightly diagonally across the hammock. This creates a flatter, more supportive surface.

Each hammock is 100% handwoven by skilled artisans in Mayan communities throughout the YucatΓ‘n, Mexico, using techniques passed down through generations. This craft provides sustainable employment while helping preserve traditional weaving practices and support local communities.
Every purchase helps contribute to growing 'Fundacion Cielo' a registered non-profit organisation working within these communities where there is often economic disparity and lack of employment opportunities to help drive social change, through alleviating poverty, improving health, education and gender equality.
80/20 - Cotton/Nylon. Our range of Mexican hammocks are made from cotton (the body) and nylon cord (the suspension arms) for the best in hammock comfort and strength. Cotton corded hammocks have a very soft supportive feel as they stretch and shape perfectly toΒ your body shape. The nylon of the suspension arms provide greater support strength and durability.
Double, queen and king-size hammocks are woven in fine soft cotton material that perfectlyΒ moulds to your body for optimal weight distribution, support and comfort.
Thick Cord hammocks are made using a heavier cotton cord, up to four times thicker than standard cotton. This creates a more durable hammock while still providing excellent comfort and softness, making it ideal for families or high-use areas.Β
Each hammock is individually handwoven, with care taken to closely match the colours shown in the images. Due to the handcrafted nature and intricate detailing, slight variations may occur between each piece.
Please note that colours may also appear slightly different depending on your screen or device settings.
Mexican hammocks are designed to last for many years with proper use care.
- Store indoors when not in use to prolong life and vibrant colours
- Avoid prolonged exposure to UV, rain & damp conditions
- Hand wash gently with mild detergent if required
- Allow to air dry completely before storing
