Mexican Hammocks Ltd (www.hammocksonline.co.nz - the Mexican Hammock Store) owns and operate this Website. This document governs your relationship with Mexican Hammocks Ltd. Access to and use of this Website and the products and services available through this Website are subject to the following terms and conditions. By using this Website you are agreeing to all of the terms and conditions.
Free delivery is provided on all orders and is sent via various courier providers and NZ Post. Orders received on Saturday, Sunday or public holidays will be dispatched the following business day. The only exception to the free delivery rule is for off-shore New Zealand Island deliveries including Chatham and Stewart Island and hammock stand deliveries to Waiheke Island which may incur additional delivery charges.
Orders should usually arrive within time frames indicated below. Please check your tracking detail email if you have not received it within a reasonable time frame.
North Island; 1-2 business days (usually overnight for most metropolitan areas).
South Island; 1-3 business days (usually second business day, e.g. order Monday, receive Wednesday).
Rural Areas; May incur an extra 1-2 days to deliver.
Quotations of delivery times by Mexican Hammocks Ltd are made in good faith but are estimates only and are not guarantees of delivery nor shall Mexican Hammocks Ltd not be bound or liable by such quotation or delivery delays.
Damaged, Delayed or Lost
In the unlikely event of a goods being damaged during transit, we must be informed of this as soon as possible along with photographic evidence and within 3 working days of receipt for us to lodge a reimbursement claim with our courier.
For delayed packages, the best course of action is to contact the appropriate courier company with your tracking details as they will have the most up to date information and can action further investigation if necessary.
For packages that have been lost by a courier company, a replacement item will be sent once we have confirmation that a package is lost from the appropriate courier company. At our discretion we may send a replacement sooner for extended delivery delays.
Secure Order and Payment
Our shopping cart is secure and protected by SSL encryption. This is a method of ensuring information submitted through our website is secure and cannot be accessed by unauthorised users.
Whenever purchasing on the Internet you need a safe and secure system to enter your credit card details through which we have in place through our Shopify website platform. When making payment there is no requirement to have an account with either company or an account on this Website.
All our Mexican hammocks, blankets, clothing and hammock stands are checked and inspected to ensure they are of the utmost quality. We are sure you'll love your purchase. However we want to ensure you are happy with your purchase, so if for any reason you are unhappy with your product, simply contact us and we will arrange a solution for you. We accept returns in 'as new' condition for a replacement or refund of your purchase price within the first 30 days for all New Zealand orders only. Hammock stands must not have been assembled to be eligible for return. We do not accept returns from overseas orders.
We provide a 6-month limited guarantee for manufacturing defects. Defects that arise due to improper use or weather influence (sun, wind or rain) are not considered warranty cases. The guarantee does not cover normal wear or defects that occur due to misuse, overloading or cover accidental ‘pulled’ cords.
Returns/Refunds - Not Quite Right - You Can Exchange
Should you just change your mind or not be happy with your hammock, it may be returned and exchanged for another. Keep the packaging, handle carefully and as long as you do this while it's nice, new and unused we can accept a return or exchange.
You have 30 days to get in touch to return or exchange your product. If you have changed your mind or wish to exchange the return & exchange* shipping cost is yours to pay. If there is a fault or you have received the incorrect product we will incur the return shipping cost and advise how best to return your purchase.
*We do not charge a restocking or repacking fee on returns, however, free delivery is provided on the original order only, and delivery costs incurred will not be included in the refund amount unless there is a fault with the goods. Refunds will also be less the credit card or Afterpay service fees incurred (2.7% & 5% respectively) as these are non-recoverable costs.
*For exchanges the cost to send an exchanged item back to you is at your cost and you will be informed of and requested to pay this amount at the time of exchange request.
Returns must be in an 'as new' unused condition. Be sure to keep the packaging and labels so these can also be returned if you decide to go down that route.
Refunds will be refunded back through the original payment method.
Returns are only eligible for New Zealand based orders. We do not accept returns from overseas orders.
From May 10, 2021 for order cancellations refund amounts will be less the credit card processing fee of 2.7% which we are unable to recover.
Orders may be cancelled anytime before they have been dispatched (1 pm weekdays). If a purchase has already been dispatched this must be returned to Mexican Hammocks Ltd prior to order cancellation and refund and will be less our incurred delivery costs and credit card processing fees.
New Zealand Owned
Mexican Hammocks Ltd is a New Zealand owned and operated company trading since 2007. All transactions are billed in New Zealand dollars.
