Mexican sarape blankets are also known as serape, zarape, or saltillo blankets, and are crafted from a durable, soft synthetic blend designed for everyday use.

I have had this Mexican blanket for a while now. At first I was absolutely thrilled with my purchase. I put it on my two seater couch and I loved the bright colours - it really "lifted" my lounge room. However, I have two cats and they love to sleep on the couch. I had assumed that the close weave of the blanket would mean it would be OK for the use for which I purchased it. That has not proved to be the case, it now has some bad pulled threads. I would not recommend these blankets to anyone who has cats.

I’m delighted with it - generous size and vibrant colours. I was inspired to get it by going to the recent Frida Kahlo/Diego Rivera exhibition at Auckland Art Gallery. I saw sarapes in the Gallery shop, came home and decided I did want one. The Gallery shop had sold out so I investigated other sources of them. I enjoyed looking at the range available on the website and am pleased with the service.

Go on buy this …. You will not regret it. The colours are super gorgeous and bright. I was surprised at how easy these are to wash and dry with no fading or colour fastness issues. Nice big sizing too without it being bulky or feeling heavy. Mike and the team do a fantastic job of personalising your purchase with an information card with your name on it. Nice touch.
