However there are a few differences with purchasing on Trademe or through our online store. We do like to encourage our customers to shop direct for the following reasons.

• Information. We don’t have a word limit! Meaning we can provide you with as much information photos and details as we can. You can find out a lot more about our products and service, plus the answers to any other common queries you may have. This gives you more complete information to aid in your purchase decision making. You can also find our contact information, to call, email, skype, facebook us with any queries you may have. Through Trademe, we are not allowed to give out any of this information. Furthermore You can easily find all our quality Mexican products in the same location, without needing to search through multiple listings.
• Colour Choice. You can view our current colour range. On Trademe it is not always possible to display the exact colour range we have available. Our website is always up to date with our current held stock.
• Quicker. Ordering through our website is a one step process. You choose your hammock and accessories, then go through the PayPal checkout process to pay for your order and enter your shipping details. We receive this information near instantly and will start processing and packing your order immediately. We email you your tracking details and instructions, and you are done! On Trademe, if you have ever purchased before you know there can be a lot of emails and to and froing going on. An email to say you have purchased, a payment email, a delivery address email. All adds up to a quickly filling email inbox.
• Free Shipping. While we strongly believe in Trademe and the large market and security it provides, it is not a free medium as a seller. To sell our products on Trademe we have to pay for this privilege through various fees and charges. These include to list our products and photos, along with any enhancements to make our listings stand out. Also we pay a % fee of 7.5% on every sale made through Trademe. If we then receive payment via the Trademe payment system ‘PayNow’ we are then charged another 1.95%. As you can imagine this quickly adds to our bottom line! For this reason we charge a delivery fee on most products through Trademe to help recoup these costs. If you purchase through our website directly we save on these fees and are able to pass on the savings to you in terms of free shipping on all products.

So for those reasons if you are looking to purchase a Mexican hammock, we do encourage you to shop through our online store. Maybe it is not as familiar as Trademe, but we are always about and happy to help, with quick responses via email, or you can call and talk to us directly. We don’t like to discourage you from shopping through Trademe, if that is where you feel most comfortable shopping online please do, you can still be assured you will still receive the same prompt friendly service and quality products.

As part of our range of Mexican hammocks we have a variation of different sizes and styles. One variation of hammock we have is called the ‘thick cord hammock‘. You may be wondering what this is or what is the difference..

Our standard and the traditional Mexican hammocks – the double, queen and king size hammocks are all woven in a fine cord, which is very comfortable and conforming. Whereas, as the name implies the thick cord hammock is woven from a thicker grade of cotton material. This is approximately four times thicker than our standard cord. This is also a very soft and comfortable hammock and is also hand-woven in the same manner as all our Mexican made hammocks. All our chair hammocks and resort style hammocks are also woven in the thicker cord.

Some benefits and differences of the thick cord over the thinner cord include;

- Increased durability. Due to the thicker cord, it is more resistant to the elements and general wear and tear. This is a great hammock if you have active children that will be in and out of the hammock.

- Warmer. Can be an advantage or disadvantage depending on your climate. With the thicker cord, more of your body is on material, so the amount of airflow that circulates around you body is slightly reduced. This is good for the those cooler evenings though.

- Size. The thick cord comes in one standard size which we also refer to as a #24. It weighs 3kg and is quite a large hammock even when folded up. About the same size as a large school backpack. So this is not always the most convenient for traveling with. When spread out in use the thick cord will be approximately the same width as our king size hammock at 2.4m.  So it is great for couples and families.

- Cord. Currently we only offer this hammock in cotton material. The thicker cord does offer great durability in use and when exposed to the elements, but as with all our hammocks we do recommend protecting your hammock when not in use. Either with the use of a hammock protect cover, or simply putting the hammock away inside when not in use. When storing always just ensure the hammock is not put away wet, and is stored in a dry location.
